January Blahs

I thought a cheerful picture of flowers and sunshine that I took in Mexico could alleviate the January gloom..at least momentarily

Somewhere between finishing the Twilight series (don’t judge!) and attending class, my mind has been dragged though the dreary gray winter sludge. This means a lack of motivation and a type of depression that can only be cured by sunshine and job prospects.

My forecast for the rest of January seems …how do you say? Oh. Discouraging.

I have updated mycrisp-lookin resume and uploaded onto to several career-building websites. I thought about applying to several jobs only to be discouraged by the idea of 50 bagillion people who are probably more qualified than me. So my thought remained just that.

How the heck to you enter into the job market anyways?!

I don’t seem to be the only one with this pessimistic view of the college after-life. Any conversation with my friends is underlined with stress and anxiety while we just simply avoid the topic of graduation…and …jobs.

*Shudder*

Any ideas for a book to read? Now that I am finished with the Twilight series I need something else to throw myself into so that I can block out the real world. No more love stories though. Apparently Edward has had a negative affect on my relationship…and by Edward I do not mean Robert Patterson, I mean the notion of true love . What is it? (that is the question...too deep for today).

I have been cooking to keep my mind clear however…And I have decided that recipes are too hard to write down. I eyeball everything (it’s the Italian way!). My latest success was a spicy chicken asparagus pasta. Quite delicious I should say.

My next project shall be Sopa de Lima (above picture)-- a lime soup that I had just about everywhere in Mexico when I was studying abroad. First I need to translate and decipher the directions…I boldly bought a cookbook written in Spanish. Guess it’s just another test for me,

It’s about time to get back on track with life. First I will fill my fish bowl with water…I have let about half of the water evaporate out and Kubla Khan is not happy.

Who knows what I’ll do next? Perhaps Ch.3 of my econ.

Now onward to my exciting life! ( minus the vampires)

  2. This is definitely along the lines of a love story, but I just read "The Reader" (its a book that was turned into a movie with Kate Winslet in 2008) but it was really good and intriguing and dealt with real parts of history mixed with fiction which I always like. Its nothing too extraordinary when it comes to the writing, but id at least say its better than Twilight standards, lol.
